Winding down

This week has been crazy!  I didn't think the Corona Virus would affect me, I am not at an age that is of concern, I am healthy, I don't travel much (except I was scheduled for a cruise that was canceled), but it has.  I am very grateful for the relax in due dates for this class.  The way the virus affected me is at work.  Sales are going crazy!  Who would have thought that vacuum bags, stamps, and metal detectors would be the desired items during this virus.  We have all worked many extra hours to get everything packed and shipped. I work in the office which is busy, but the folks that do the actual packing are really feeling it.  The lady who picks up the mail from our local post office could not handle all the packages.  My employer was required to take them to the main Post office himself.  If not for the social distancing and quarantines, we would have hired extra people.  We are thankful we all have jobs still. 

But, today I was able to finish most of this weeks assignments.  I knew that social media was important for my website, but it was pointed out to me again.  I will need to get that handled.  There are a few other things I will need to learn more about to fix, but I can do it.  However, Amazon dropped me from the affiliate program!  What!  That kind of takes the steam out of even working on this website since the only way I was getting paid was through links to Amazon.  However, I will change some of the links to go directly to my employers items, and change some of my plans, and make this website work. Part of what I do everyday is figure out ways to work with Amazon and their multiple policy changes and confusion.  This is another great opportunity for me to figure how to work with Amazon.  I had thought I would keep improving the website and keep paying for the ads, but since Amazon dropped me, I have canceled all ads. I never could see them anyway.  Through google analytics I could see that other people saw my ads, but I didn't have a big enough budget for the ads to still be showing by the time I looked.

Everything I have learned will help me in future.
