Just keep swimming....

This week we spent a lot of time on creating a button for PayPal. Sometimes when I am learning new things, even when I exactly follow the directions and instructions provided, things don’t work out exactly. This is frustrating at first, and quite frustrating when I lose points on an assignment because of “technical difficulties”. But, in the end, after all the learning, I can recognize the challenge as a blessing. I thought following step by step instructions given on a you tube site would be the easiest way for me to accomplish a web site, but, several of the steps on this YouTube are already outdated and so I am feeling a bit frustrated with my website creation. The trick for me is to just keep trying and trusting 1) things will turn out, 2) I can get the assistance I require, and 3) I will keep learning to the end.
I had a discussion with a friend this week about happy endings in books. Her theory is that when a story is all wrapped up with a happy ending, it is not real life. I have a different theory. I happen to like books with predictable happy endings. In my world, every experience can have a happy ending. It may not end when I want it to, it may not be the ending I at first thought it would, but it will end and I can choose whether it is a happy ending or a troubled one. For me, I choose happy. Even though building this web site is not easy and my website may not be a fantastic success when I am finished, I will have a web site created, I will learn many things, and I will have the knowledge to make it possible to try again and again until I am satisfied. To me, that is a positive ending.
